Matasis was co-founded in 2007 by Manne Dipico and Zahid Faqui-Dawood, as a BEE investment vehicle aimed at meaningful participation in the South African economy.

It invests, structures and raises funding for management and leveraged buy outs, as well as strategic Black Economic Empowerment transactions

Since inception, It has participated in a number of key transactions, principally in the Natural Resources and related Industries.

Matasis’ focus has expanded to growth opportunities beyond South Africa (primarily through its investee companies) , and continues to develop strong competencies, contacts and resources in this regard.
